The IAF intercepts a Lebanese Caravelle passenger plane on its way from Beirut to Baghdad. Immediately after it takes off, two Israeli fighters sidle up to it and instruct it land at a military airbase in northern Israel. All 74 of the plane’s passengers are interrogated and released after their identity has been determined. Terrorist leader George Habash and three of his aides were supposed to be on the flight, according to intelligence reports. As it turned out – they had changed their plans at the last minute.
