A first visit of an Arab-Israeli reporter took place today at the Ramat-David air base. The “Al-Hora” network’s reporter, Majdi Halabi, met with the aircrews of several squadrons. During his visit, Halabi interviewed Lt. Col. Z, commander of the “Knights of the North” squadron. At the interview, Halabi asked about the capabilities of the squadron, which flies “Barak” (F-16 C/D) jets.

“Knights of the North” Squadron is one of the most active combat squadrons. In recent years, it played a major role in some of the most significant missions.

At the interview, Lt. Col. Z discussed recent attacks in Lebanon, elaborated on how they respond to Hezbollah attacks, and even spoke about the squadron’s role in the attack on the nuclear facilities in Iraq in 1981. In addition, Lt. Col. Z discussed the jet’s capabilities and the distance they are able to travel.

The squadron commander took the time to discuss an important issue of avoiding civilian casualties. He emphasised how the air force is doing everything it can, from planning to deployment to minimize its impact on civilian population.
