The spokesman of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories announced that the District Coordination Office and the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories permitted the transport of medical equipment from Israel into hospitals in Gaza City over the past week. This was done as part of the humanitarian efforts vis-à-vis the residents of the Gaza Strip.
Among the equipment transferred for the benefit of the Palestinian population in the Strip was a CT machine that was delivered to Al Quds Hospital and which will be the only device of its type in Palestinian Red Crescent hospitals in the Gaza Strip. In addition, during the last week, replacement parts for a mammography machine that enables identification of potential signs of breast cancer and replacement parts for an elevator to improve movement of patients were delivered to the Shifa Hospital.
The transfer of the medical equipment was made possible with the assistance of the international organizations operating in the Gaza Strip.
The coordination of the delivery of the medical equipment to the hospitals was carried out as part of the humanitarian efforts for the benefit of the residents of the Gaza Strip. These efforts are conducted on a daily basis on all levels and through all venues with an emphasis on healthcare issues.
