The IDF (Zahal) and the US Army have a long history of cooperation. On May 15th, two weeks ago, Israeli and US forces held a joint emergency rescue drill – one of many collaborative efforts meant to teach soldiers how to save lives.

Together, they trained how to extract injured victims from a collapsed building, to clear paths through debris and to navigate in the chaos that is left by a natural disaster. The IDF (Zahal) holds similar drills each year with teams of the US Armed Forces, in order to pass on valuable knowledge and prepare for future disasters.
