The Israel Airports Authority has acceded to a request from the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories to operate the Allenby Crossing Terminal during the night between Wednesday July 17 and Thursday July 18, this in light of the large number of travelers expected to visit Israel and Judah and Samaria for the Ramadan festival. The Crossing will open on Wednesday at 8:00 and will remain open continuously until midnight on Thursday – until the final visitor has entered the terminal, which will be reinforced by extra personnel in order to enable the pilgrims’ transition before the holiday.
In order to alleviate the process for the large number of travelers passing through the terminal from Jordan to Israel, the Coordinator of Activities in the Territories, Major General Eitan Dangot and the Deputy Director-General of Terminals in the Israel Airports Authority, Shmuel Zakai, have agreed upon the deployment of an on-call medical team and the provision of liquid refreshments for the visitors, due to the heat during this period of the summer.
The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, Major General Dangot, updated the senior officials in the Palestinian Authority concerning the arrangements made ahead of the expected wave of visitors for the Ramadan festival.
