The winter season has arrived at IAF bases: This morning, the detection unit of the control formation, which is based on one of the peaks of the Judean Mountains, was blanketed in snow. “This week began with a large storm and a lot of rain, which slowly made way to snowflakes that piled up as the tempratures dropped”, said Major Eran Levi, Deputy Commander of the Unit. “We’ve activated the snowplower, and are maintaining continuous operations. Even through extreme weather conditions, there are no exemptions”.
Even through intensely cold weather, the operational action doesn’t stop for a moment. “Because of our location, we’re used to dealing with this weather every year”, says Major Tal. “We knew that the snow was coming, and prepared accordingly”.
