Traditional baptism ceremonies took place in Qasr Al-Yahud

ocated east of Jericho, where it is believed Jesus was baptized by John The Baptist.     

The event was directed by religious figures and coordinated by the Head of the District Coordination and Liaison of Jericho, Civil Administration, Lt.Col.Azhar Ganem.

During the day, ceremonies of the Greek Orthodox Church and the Ethiopian Church occurred in the presence of 7,200 Christians from all over the world.

The ceremony was coordinated with Jericho District Coordination Liaison which has operated over the years in order to improve the site conditions in order to allow the highest standards possible for the ceremonies.

Israel and the Civil Administration welcome all the visitors to the site and wish them all a happy holiday.
