An IDF soldier was sentenced to two and a half years in jail for stealing weapons from an IDF base in Northern Command.
The Military Police began an intense investigation following the report of a stolen weapon. The search concentrated on intelligence work in cooperation with the Israeli Police.
The soldier was judged by a military court in Northern Command. He was found guilty and was sentenced to two and a half years in jail.
The Military Police determined dealing with transgressions concerning the theft of weapons and munitions from the IDF’s one of its highest priorities. It invests much effort in dealing with these crimes.
As a result of the actions of the Military Police and IDF commanders there was a 45% reduction in the amount of weapons lost or stolen from the IDF in 1999.
