The IAF has a central position in Israel’s national security, a fact indicated by the large representation of IAF commanders in the recent Israel National Defense College Course. What is the course like? What does it give to its participants? And who are the servicemen and women expected to soon man key positions in the IAF and IDF?
Throughout the course the participants attended seminars, conferences and workshops and learned about society, economy, diplomacy and military from lecturers who are all experts in their fields. In addition, the class participated in multiple tours, including overseas: from NATO and the EU in Belgium, through the Kremlin and Russian Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and to central institutions in the U.S: the UN, White House, State Department, Pentagon, Jewish Community and Harvard University.

“I am certain that we will be able to utilize the opportunities the future holds”
Col. Haim, who has just began his service as Head of the Aircraft Department in the Material Directorate, began his military service in 1993, after completing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Before entering his current position, Haim requested to participate in the INDC Course in order to further deepen his knowledge in national defense and experience one of the most fascinating courses the IDF offers to senior servicemen and women.
Col. Haim has entered the position in a challenging time, in which the “Adir” (F-35I) is being received by the IAF. “The IAF has a central position in Israel’s national security in terms of deterrence, decision and defense, on which it is based”.
Other recent INDC graduates are Brig. Gen. Natan Israeli, who was Head of the Personnel Department and is currently entering the position of Head of the Personnel Directorate, Col. Yif’at Erlich, who was the Commander of the Aerial Medical Unit and will soon become the first women to serve as the IAF’s Chief Medical Officer and Brig. Gen. Ran Kochav, who was the Commander of the Aerial Defense Academy and recently became the Chief Military Police Officer
